small town thrifting

the view from our street, taken with the "retro camera" app on my phone
today has been awesome. we have pretty much been relaxing and having fun all day. here is what our day has consisted of so far...

motorcycle rides

pinball

build your own sundae
air hockey
and here's me, trying to stay warm on gull lake

but for real, i have to say the craziest part of the whole day was when the kids were napping. i decided to take a little tour of any and all thrift stores in the area. after a batch of wrong directions from my gps, i stumbled upon this darling little store. i could not believe it when i walked in...old vintage bottles for $.25, vintage embroidered pictures for $.50, jewelry starting at $.10. I could have spent the whole day there, and still i probably would have walked out spending less than $100. in my case, i was there for about an hour, and i spent $30. half of the store was outside, so weather did not permit me to stay longer....i may go back tomorrow, though.  here are my finds...

four vintage necklaces, one of them the most darling locket
embroidered pictures
vintage shoes
hanging door handle hook

wooden deer figurines

vintage fabric and lace

milk glass decanter and blue delft decanter and mug

vintage and skeleton keys

vintage leather wallet
totally forgot...i got these for chris, too...
vintage cuff links

needless to say, i'm pretty excited about my finds. i wish there was a shop like this that wasn't three hours away!

now we are off to watch movies and make some good old fashioned jiffy pop! have a great night!

xoxo,
megan bird
