In Memory of Amy Winehouse

This Throwback Thursday, it had to be an Amy Winehouse track. She would have been one of my throwbacks anyway, but time is of the essence, with her untimely death an all. This one is for all her fans, and those otherwise that enjoyed her talent. Coming of her Grammy Award winning 2006 album Back To Black, the song entitled the same speaks of her then heartbreak split from her ex-husband. The album currently stands in the #1 position of the UK album charts for the second time since 2007. The video directed by Phil Griffin is shot perfectly in black and white which adds to the melancholy of the funeral procession where Amy burrys her broken heart. Enjoy, in memory of her legendary talent.

This Throwback Thursday I'm taking it back to 2003 with Snoop Dogg's track 'Beautiful' featuring beautiful vocals from Pharrell Williams and Charlie Wilson. This is one of my favourite tracks from Snoop and the sensual production of course by The Neptunes magics nothing but summer vibes. Relax for a couple minutes and enjoy !!

Throwback Thursday: Pass The Courvoisier

Today's second Throwback Thursday track has to be Busta Rhymes 'Pass The Courvoisier Part II' featuring Diddy and Pharrell Williams. One because it was on the airwaves today, two because the production courtesy of The Neptunes is truly BADASS; and three because it really takes it back to that point in the nougties when R&B was still good. Not to say that it isn't good anymore at all, but it definitely isn't the same - the realness and vibe to music that used to be there has just vanished. Also it brings back those memories when music videos had those little skits, this particular one with a cameo appearance from chat host Mo'Nique who bads up Busta !! You can't help but chuckle. So cheers to old times, good music and the fact that tomorrow is the start of the freekin' weekend. Enjoy :)

Today I've decided to drop two Throwback Thursday tracks, a present from me to you for my absence. LUCKY YOU !! The first has to be 'Wonderful' from Ja Rule back in 2003 featuring Ashanti and R. Kelly. The track just popped up in my head this week, and also there's been a comeback track from Ja Rule featuring Ashanti that has been circulating the airwaves and it took me back to this track - though it isn't half as good. Rekindle yourselves with this track and check back at 5pm, I'll be taking the next track a little further back...

Coming from his fourth studio album, Like Water for Chocolate the video stars his girlfriend at the time - Erykah Badu and was deemed to be a love letter to her.
