Drake Gets His R&B On !!

Drake Covers Destiny's Child

In my world all Drake can do is impress, in the real world all he can do is impress. We all know the rapper has a thing about singing, and the real world is split with his vocals - it's like marmite you either love it or hate it. One thing you can't hate his voice is for paying a little tribute to Destiny's Child by singing one of their classics. Drizzy decided to get his 'R&B on' at the second annual OVO Festival in Toronto by getting down with a couple lines from their year 2000 hit 'Say My Name'. PERSONALLY... I think he should sample take it a step further and sample it on some sort of pre-release R&B mixtape before Take Care drops in October. Check it out, below...

Well he did say back in 2007 in his short track, 'Bitch Is Crazy' - from his Comeback Season mixtape,

I gotta get mt R&B on you know
I wanna wear the wife beaters
With the slit at the top so I can tear it easy and all that
I wanna sing in the rain girl
You know what I'm talking 'bout?

SO... getting his R&B on - check, wife beater - almost, slit at the top and singing in the rain is still to be checked off the list. Maybe he should do this in on of his concerts. That would be bloody awesome cool.

LOVE IT !!

Music Monday: Drake - Headline

Drake: Headline

How ironic is it for an artist that is constantly hitting the headlines, to call their leading track of their upcoming album 'Headline'..? Quite ironic and smart if I must say so. Drake has hit us with a new track to start of the week and to make us even more anticipated about his sophomore album Take Care. THE TRACK... produced by Boi-1da is one that is sure to take on the radio, with his mixture of hard rapping and singing. However in my opinion it will be a slow grow. As a Drizzy fan, as soon as he drops a new track I am on it like a house on fire, but this particular track though it has a really catchy hook is one that you might have to listen to a few times over before it really stick. LYRICALLY... the track is dope, Drizzy doesn't fail to smash his verses on this one - but the early reviews may not be in favour as his tracks are usually a one time listen and then it's a favourite. MY VERDICT... I'm liking it so far, totally loving the hok but I say give it a week or a days listen on repeat for it to really soak in.  REMINDER... Take Care is due to drop October 24th. NOW... have a listen, what say you..? Drop me a line. Enjoy :)

DEFINITE GROWER !!

New Video: Drake - Marvin's Room

Video: Marvin's Room

I'm sure a video for Drake's viral track 'Marvin's Room' has been well anticipated, and one has finally debuted. The song that has Drizzy getting his R&B on in a rather melancholy way has taken the web by storm since it was first posted on the OVO (October's Very Own) blog back on June 9th. A matter of fact it seems to have taken the R&B world by storm as various artists have made remixes. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD IT... the track is about a drunken Drake who has called up his ex saying that she "could do better" than the guy that she claims to "love so bad" !! THE VISUAL... Directed by Hyghly of XO and shot in Toronto, the video I think they smashed it as it meets the concept of the song. The video being so simple and strict to the lyrics actually proves to be much more effective than the many high budget videos floating around right now. With no further adieu, check it out...

PS. Look out for my 'Marvin's Room' article later this week discussing all the remixs including Jo Jo and Chris Brown's take on the track.

GOES PERFECTLY WITH THE SONG !!

New Video: DJ Khaled - I'm On One

I'm On One (ft. Drake, Rozay & Weezy)

DJ Khaled's 'I'm On One' featuring Drake, Rick 'Rozay' Ross and Lil' Wayne now has a visual. I've been playing this track like crazy but it's not really a track to expect a video as awesome to match. I didn't even expect a visual at all as there's not much you could really do with it other than have the artists (of course), alcohol accompanied with some kush, randoms, chicks a lush car Weezy bouncing about and Rozay's belly !! *DRUM ROLL...* that's exactly what you get !! Maybe not in that order but they're all there nevertheless. Sorry to be a party pooper !! What I did find funny though was the contrast; how DJ Khaled had it all lush with a bottle and glasses and Drizzy had his 'three cups' as he says in his verse !! Oh well they're all rich !! Birdman also makes a cameo appearance in the clip. I totally love how Drizzy can swear in song in such a lovely way in such a hood song. Gotta love him hey..? Check out the video...

BANGER !!

New Video: In The Morning

J. Cole: In The Morning (ft. Drake)

The video for J. Cole's Friday Night Lights, track 'In the Morning' featuring Drake is finally here. Cole just about managed to drop the video on his blog before Valentines Day was over - bless him. ANYWAYS... the most important thing is that the video is here. The feature is more of a documentary type visual. It captures them performing the track on their recent tour and follows a mysterious, but pretty lady. Cole told MTV:

He adds, "And just the magic of that tour. To give people a look into that."

WELL... I'm feeling it. If you listen to the lyrics the visuals do complement the track well. Check out the clip below and of course enjoy :)

CUTE VID !!

New Video: Moment 4 Life

Moment 4 Life Video

Every Barbie must have a fairy tale wedding, it's just protocol and the way of life !! Here Nicki Minaj is having hers, or at least a "royal celebration" as she told MTV News. She enjoys her special moment with fellow rapper Drake, a moment granted by her very own British fairy godmother !! YES... be prepared for her famous English accent, which to me sounds like a mixture of the Queens English and Australian. Well at least it has that entertainment factor !! Directed by Chris Robinson, who's worked with the likes of Alicia Keys, Jay-z and Nas works well with the concept of the song. ANYWAYS... check it out and enjoy her 'Moment 4 Life' :)

CUTE !!

Sneak Peek: Nicki Minaj - Moments 4 Life

Teaser Vid: Moments 4 Life (ft. Drake)

Nicki Minaj has been on a role this month. She's been shooting the video for 'Fly' with singer and fashionista Rihanna, and now the teaser vid for 'Moments 4 Life' has dropped. You go girl !! The video, featuring Drake seems to have a fairytale theme going on. From what I see it looks like a Cinderella story with her playing both Cinders and the fairy Godmother !! There are some close scenes with her and Drizzy and it seems as though they're a married couple. Remember Drizzy did say on his Thank Me Later album he would like to marry her one day !! Maybe the fairy GodBarbie has granted him that wish in this video. Check it out...

LOOKS VERY INTERESTING !!

Teaser Vid: Bun B - Put It Down

Bun B 'Put It Down' ft. Drake

This Bun B featuring Drake is set to be a banger. Both artist go hard on this track, just they did on Drizzy's 'Uptown' from his So Far Gone (Mixtape). Check out their intriguing teaser video directed by Mr. Boomtown who's directed clips for artists such as Slim Thug and Yo Gotti.

INTERESTING !!

New Music: Diddy Dirty Money & Drake

Diddy Dirty Money - Loving You No More

Something new from Diddy and the Dirty Money crew. Since 'Hello Goodmorning' I haven't heard much from them, or maybe that's just me !! WELL... they've got this new track entitled 'Loving you No More' featuring Drake. It has a real smooth, nod you head in relation to the meaning type vibe. It may be the next single on the album as he is a confirmed guest on the album Last Train To Paris which is due to drop October 12th. Sounds pretty good and the production is tight, check it out...

LIKING THIS A LOT !!

New Music: Drake - What If I Kissed You

Drake: What If I Kissed You

Something new from Drake (again). This track produced by Stargate, titled 'What If I Kissed You' is supposed to be on that R&B mixtape - It's Never Enough which is dropping real soon. I love me some Drizzy and his whole little singing he's got going on. His singing voice sounds a little thicker and more full on in this track than usual.  ANYWAY... the track still sounds real nice. Check it out and post your views by hitting that comment button...

TAKE ME I'M YOURS !!

New Video: Drake - Miss Me

Drake: Miss Me

My boy Drizzy Drake's video for 'Miss Me' is finally here. The video directed by Anthony Mandler features Lil' Wayne. HOW..? How what huh..? Well as you know Weezy is incarnated right about now, and as posted in mid-July he shot the video for this and 'Fancy'. SO... what they did was shoot Weezy's part on a green screen before he went it - probably when he shot the videos for 'Knock Out' and the rest of them. MY VERDICT... I know some of y'all like to criticise Drizzy's videos, if you didn't like 'Over' well you won't like the video for this one. I liked it, and this one is even cooler !! It follows the same theme in terms of the colours, lighting and the whole projection thing Mandler has got going on. IN ADDITION... you got to read more for that and something else... Enjoy the video :)

... Drake was live on UStream last night - well this morning for us in the UK !! Check the photo (on your right) where he lights a FU candle for his haters !! He briefly spoke about a welcome concert for Lil' Wayne in November. Him working on a R&B mixtape - because he loves us dearly and he's used to giving his fans freebies. For the Drizzy freshers he's working on his next album, so look out !!

TELL ME WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON !!

Drake's Ready For Ya !!

New Music: Drake

Something new from your boy Drake !! Can I get a WOOP WOOP ?! This track right here is a radio rip but I see it hitting the airwaves real big soon. Entitled 'I'm Ready For You' the track to me is like an 'Over' part two. It's got a similar message and vibe about it, though it's much more simple. I see this being on an EP or a mixtape, but to be honest this should have been put out ages ago. OH WELL... it's here now and it's Drizzy all the same. You'll get my drift when you have a listen. SO... check it out....

I'M FEELIN' THIS!!

Behind The Scenes: Drake's 'Miss Me'...

Drake: 'Miss Me' & 'Fancy'

Drake has been busy and productive this weeks, and I have the evidence. So far we've had three visuals from Drizzy - 'Best I Ever Had', Over' and more recently 'Find Your Love'. Now we've got two more to add to his catalogue, which should be out with in the next two weeks - well at least one of them.  SO... on Wednesday (15th) Drizzy Drake was spotted on set for the video of his track featuring Lil' Wayne 'Miss Me' - which is like one of my fave tracks on the Thank Me Later album. Of course Anthony Mandler was there directing. I mean he is the guy right now !! ALSO... it is alleged that yesterday he started shooting the video for 'Fancy' featuring T.I. and Swizz Beatz. All my Drizzy fans, we've got more from our guy !! Peep more photo's when you read on...

Props to Kore Magazine.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE !!

Drake Getting Sued By Playboy..?

Drizzy Being Sued..?

Drake is apparently being sued by Playboy Records for using a sampling a song by 70s group Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, entilted 'Fall In Love' on his hit single 'Best I Ever Had'. If you listen to the song - which I've posted below, the only thing that resembles Drizzy's song is the bass riff at the very begining. I mean come on now, Playboy Enterprises makes enough money already, and they're trying to take some of his hard earn mula for something stupid like that. Like who knew that song, before this story surfaced..?  (ROLLS EYES) Blame the producers, unless they did know. Oh well lets hope Drake is let off. Take a listen to this cheesefest of a song...

JUST LOOKING FOR SOME FREE CASH !!

Drake At #1 Spot

Drake Goes Gold !!

I feel very proud to be a Drake fan. I mean I'm a proud fan anyway, but with my boy topping the US Billboard 200 last week - I'm even more happy for him !! Selling about 450,000 units in his first week, Drizzy should be DAMN proud of himself. I mean people have sold far more in their 1st week of sales, but this is his debut album. Also taking into account his album did leak a week before, cutting some of those extra sales. Though it didn't seem to phase him, or dent his sales much. PLUS...  that doesn't even account for the sales world wide !! I know for sure he totally rocked the UK. Topping our R&B chart (THOUGH HE ISN'T R&B !!) and ranking at 15 in the UK album charts. He has definitely done well. I'm totally happy that I went out there and brought me a copy. It your turn to say... I want know if you copt the album, downloaded the leak and most importantly what you guys think of it..? HIT THAT COMMENT BUTTON !!

CONGRATUALTIONS DRIZZY !!

Freak Talk On Stage

Girls Gone Wild For Trey !!

He said he's the problem solver, and alongside buddy Drake they were definitley 'Successful' - in making the girls go WILD !! Trey Songz is something else !! It's not the first time he's invited a female fan onto the stage for some steamy teasing and a hint of kissing. He's even had one carted off in a wheelchair to be retained. Check out this video courtsey of WSHH with himself and Drizzy turning Bostons Summer Jam crowd on...

HOT DAMN !!

New Music: Drake 'Up All Night' ft. Nicki Minaj

Drake: 'Up All Night' ft. Nicki Minaj

I haven't had any Drake posts this week, but before the week ends, heres something new from my boy Drizzy. The track entitled 'Up All Night' features his fellow Young Money star Nicki Minaj. The track can be found on his upcoming album, which is due for release June 15th. Talking of the album, it has completely leaked on to the net, and Drizzy being the sweet and lovely guy that he is tweeted:

BTW...Nicki goes 'ARD on this track, now this is the Nicki I like. Have a listen after the bar...

I'm on a diet but I'm doing donuts on a six speed...♫

Plus, I forgot to drop his track with Jay-Z that can also be found on the album leaked just over a week ago - entitled 'Light Up'. Enjoy...

THEY ALL GO 'ARD !! 13 DAYS TO GO !!

New Music: Drake 'Fireworks' ft. Alicia Keys

Drake ft. Alicia Keys - 'Fireworks'

It was about two weeks ago when I posted Drake's first official track 'Fireworks' featuring Alicia Keys coming his highly anticipated upcoming debut album Thank Me Later.  Here it is again, with Alicia and without the noise of the crowd !! Enjoy :)

HE'S JUST BADASS !!

Drake: 'Miss Me' ft. Lil' Wayne

Drake: 'Miss Me' ft. Lil' Wayne

YUNG MULA BABY !! Something new from Drake featuring the Weezy F Baby (Lil' Wayne) entitled 'Miss Me'. How relevant - Weezy is in prison, but do we really miss him..? He has so much pre-recorded material !! Anyway the track isn't about Wayne. Take a listen and find out what the two are saying...

I LIKE !!

Drake ft. Young Jeezy: Unforgettable

New Music: Drake 'Unforgettable'

Fresh of the press something new from Drake again. GOODTIMES !! This track drop isn't official yet as it's a radio rip, but its preparation for his upcoming album Thank Me Later - coming soon. The track entitled 'Unforgettable' features the recently released features Young Jeezy. Produced by Boi-1da & 40 it samples Aaliyah's '(At Your Best) You Are Loved' - which was sampled of The Isley Brothers' original. SOUNDS COOL...Both the rappers talk relationships and fame and balancing it. Have a listen..

I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR IT OFFICIALLY !!
