Please read it...it has "negative" in it, lot of "lazy" people in there......

OMG. This useless news prompted for more than 10 pages. This clearly shows how Indians are victimized for cinema. This is a clear example to show popularity in cine field and money can do any thing in India. Millions of people suddenly back SRK. No one has bothered for APJ when he was frisked at Indian Soil. Now, millions of peoples, media, and government are backing this SRK, just for 2 hours interrogation that he faced in the airport. No one has bothered about thousands of innocent muslims they undergo similar checks at US airport, everyday. No one has bothered about some Mur�ali� from India has to wait additional 2 years for his name check to be cleared for his 485 approval. No one has bothered about millions of social security money contributed by H1Bs, that�s not ported to India when they returned.
Why SRK should be superior than other passengers for ICE officers at airport? Is it because he is popular in India or actor or having lot of money? If so, what about other scientists or engineers having more credential than SRK, that undergo similar secondary inspections, if they selected? First, he is not on diplomat visa, to give a proper treatment. If SRK feels that his self-respect was not allowing him for the introgrrogation, he should have not landed in US. After all, like many others, he came to US to fill his wallet on eve of �independence� day. Those who support SRK should learn lessons from US, how US is strict in their rules. Because of this kind of �no exception� policy, they did not experience another 911. In India, if any one says I am the son of MLA or relative of an actor, or if he is a friend of airport manager, then he/she will not get any checks. They can easily pass all the checks.

The comment period ended April 17th 2006. I heard, Many top companies were against elimination, probably, because they had plenty of labors using which they could attract senior and bright H-1B's. Also, I think USCIS needs to publish an elimination of substitution in this respect which will again have to go through comment period, only after all this the elimination will come into place.
But the reason why elimination proposal came in is because of fraud and not because of unfair ness to people who are in line or FIFO because of transfer of PD. DOL and USCIS noticed that companies are sellling Labors which is fraud. Hello All,
First and foremost, i must thank everyone from IV, who is working tirelessly to resolve the issues of retrogression in the GC process. As an affected individual I am very grateful that leaders of IV are ready to contribute so much effort for its goals. And even though I do not actively work for the IV agenda, I have contributed money to some IV action items.
I have a question/suggestion regarding the IV agenda. On IV's about page, pt number 2 asserts amongst other things,
The Discriminatory Per-Country Rationing of Green Cards That Exacerbates the Delays.
and further in the same point
We do not allow employers to discriminate hiring based on their nationality or country of origin. Therefore, the employment-based immigration, which is a derivative benefit of employment, should also be free from rationing based on nationality or country of birth.
I am curious to know what is the "legal" strength of these assertions is. Are they just "moral" statements or can the validity of these statements be tested in the legal framework of this country? In other words, my question is what is the constitutionality of the "Per Country Caps" in Employment / Family Based Immrigration procedures.
A lot of Laws and Statutes have been challenged in the Judicial System of USA. And many more are challenged every year. And if the laws are not constitutional then they can be repealed.
I am sure the leaders of IV must have thought about this argument however a quick search of the forums with 'constitutionality' as the search term did not return any results.
IV's efforts to utilize Lobbying to bring about change to alleviate/eliminate retrogression are certainly beneficial. However, if IV has not already considered and eliminated this legal argument, then it should explore whether there is any substance to this approach.

You don't have a case. Before laws are signed, lawmakers spend hours and hours or weeks arguing, debating and modying before it is passed by both Senators and congressmen.
If they change the current law to favor Indians, then it will be disciminatory to other nationals. Think the other way.
Personally, I don't see any discrimination in the existing law. It so happened that you came from Indian and the law only allows a certain percentage per country.

An excellent idea so far from any member. This can certainly make govt/congress serious about EB issues. And if govt really goes ahead and does something as mentioned in the post, it'll benefit current GC waiter homeowners to get their GC fast and also persuade GC waiters who are still on fence about home buying decision.

Friends,
Its upsetting to see USCIS playing with our lives. Inviting us to file AOS and then shutting the door on us when we did all the hard work to get here LEGALLY. I remember someone mentioning "GC is a scam". Did'nt USCIS attempt to do that with us? It all about ATTITUDE and at this point I hate USCIS/DOS's attitude towards us (Legal Immigrants) and our families. Starting June 13th, we all would shorten our life-span by 2-5 years due to this tension/excitement.
Well, most people would say US wont be affected even if we relocate in some other country. May be true! But my company keeps loosing work due to not finding the right candidate for the job. So they will of course!
In the long run, if this broken immigration system is not fixed, no business can afford to lose any resources when they know that there is demand in market. Microsoft has found other ways and this is the best example and more companies would soon follow. I hope that this mess gets cleaned soon!
I am moving to Australia to start a new venture!!
